Jimi, Practice Manager/Lead Technician

In 2007, Jimi completed a veterinary assistant training program and started her career in animal husbandry and small animal practice. She soon realized that veterinary medicine was her niche, so she went back to school to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology.

In 2014, Jimi graduated from Penn Foster College under the direction of Dr. Margi Sirios and earned an Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2007, and since 2013, has worked in supervisory positions as a lead technician and practice management.


Julie, Lead Receptionist

Julie has been with Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital since May of 2016. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University having obtained a degree in General Studies. Julie is the mother of an awesome set of twins, daughter, Tori, and son, Zak. Her pet family includes kitty, Coco Chanel, grand kitties Mr. Fluff and Marley, and grand dog, Charli. In her time away from the hospital, Julie volunteers for the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA), and is a cystic fibrosis mentor. Fun facts about Julie are that she loves the beach, road trips, listening to local live music, and a really good margarita!


Emma - Dentistry Technician

Emma joined the team at Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital in May of 2022. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Animal Science in 2010. Her veterinary experience includes an internship at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center in 2009 and working as a veterinary technician and kennel attendant at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic from 2014-2016. Most recently, she worked as a senior technician, inventory manager, and kennel assistant at Prairieville Animal Hospital from 2016-2022. Emma has a special interest in surgical patient care, both in-op and post-op, feline behavior, and dental prophylaxis.

Emma has a dilute calico cat named Faline who has Feline DLH. She has had her rescue kitty, Faline, since 2017, and she is her pretty girl, AKA Purrfect. In her free time, Emma enjoys reading, napping with her cat, relaxing, cooking, and going on picnics. She also loves nature.and anything related to cats. A fun fact about Emma is that she faints when she gets surprised. Her co-worker, Jimi, tries to surprise her often as she gets a real kick out of it. Emma is also a great enthusiast for Japanese culture, especially Japanese art and food. Her personality suggests she is an old soul.


Kimberly - Dental Technician

Kimberly is one of the newest members of the staff at Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital having joined in January of 2023. She graduated from Capitol High School in 1995 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Science and Agriculture at Southern University in 2012. In 2013, following graduation, Kimberly completed CEAT at Companion Animal Alliance. Her special interest in veterinary medicine is being a dentistry technician. Kimberly’s family includes her husband, Brian and two daughters, Cara and Bria. She also has a German Shepherd named Zulu, and a cat, Selena. Kimberly is a member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church. She describes herself as a regular homebody; she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with family. A fun fact about Kimberly is that she will travel for great food!


Lindsay - Receptionist

Lindsay joined the staff at Perkins Road Veterinary Hospital in October of 2022. Her education achievements include earning a Bachelor Degree in Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004, a Master Degree in English Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2010, and an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from Baton Rouge Community College in 2022. Lindsay gained great experience working in the veterinary field at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests in the field include the areas of large animal and equine. Lindsay has been married since 2012. Her pet family consists of two chihuahuas named Spartacus and Saint, a rat terrier/chihuahua mix named Layla, and three cats named Ghost, Voodoo, and Trilogy, who is a tripod. In her spare time, Lindsay loves to read and watch movies. A fun fact about her is that she has a great deal of movie knowledge.
